Back in January, Governor Newsom presented his 2022-23 proposed state budget. He proposed an increase of $20 million one-time Proposition 98 general fund in order to support emergency student financial assistance to support eligible AB 540 students. Though this is not enough when distributing throughout the state of California. You can urge Governor Newsom to increase the one-time financial assistance by submitting an inquiry through the Office of Governor website or directly mentioning him on Twitter.
